Yes, it is normal. The same thing happened to me in the last weeks before my take down. Tiny bits of carrot and whatever came out with the usual mucos. I told the nurse qnd three surgeons about
it and they all said it was normal. With an end stoma, digested foord can only go out the stoma, there is no other way for it to go. But with the loop stoma, there is still the route dow to the jpouch and out the rear, and sometimes a tiny bit will go that way. Either the surgeon or so,eone here said that it happens, for example, when you are asleep, the bag becomes relatively full and becquse the output is more liquidy, a bit flows back into the other stoma
opening qnd down to the jpouch. Makes sense when you are horizontal.
I was actually delighted when it happened; it was like a hint of more to come after take down.
