Just had my surgery on Sept 4th and I'm overwhelmed with the list of supplies! I was introduced to Holster and Coloplast in the hospital. also wondering about underwear and hiding the punch under clothing.

Most female pants go to the hip only. I love my Ann Taylor signature cut pants put concerned that wearing high wiast undies will show. I'm nor too concern about the top of the bag as I can always make sure I wear a long enough top. Some tops are cut short too. Does anyone try those wraps under the clothes? I woudl think this woudl make them fit tigher and is one more thing to fuss with in the bathroom.

What are some of your grooming secrets? And where can you purchase these items? I've check on line and it appears alot of suppliers for swimwear and undies are in the UK. Anything in the USA?

     Hi!!  I am a lot older than you and wear those "granny" undies...uh oh...gave away my secret smilewinkgrin .  I cannot stand those hip huggers or thongs...ugh!  The undies fit over my bag.

     I HATE Hollister!!!  I have been using Coloplast Sensura bags for two years now.  Never had one break on me yet.  They are pre-cut with a 1 inch opening.  Your stoma may still be shrinking so you probably have to cut the opening on your bags.

     I'm not familiar with the Ann Taylor pants.  I live in jeans that come up to the waist.  My hip huggers now belong to my daughter.  Before my operation I was a LOT skinnier.  BUT...I would rather have a little meat on me than suffer with that UP.

     What are wraps?  Are they those tight shirts that even the pregnant girls wear?  I don't have any of those. 

     Honestly, I didn't have to change my wardrobe, except for the few hip hugger jeans, at all.  I wouldn't wear anything tight across the stoma though.  It might get mad and start cussing at you in stoma lingo tongue .  As for bathing suits, I can still wear the bathing suits I had pre surgery.  They are one piece and fit right over the bag.  No one can tell.  I think in the beginning we are all self conscious for awhile, but that will dissipate with time.

     How are you feeling?  Do you still have the wound vac?

I have a wrap from Ostomy Secrets (just a classic wrap) and so far I like it. I'm relatively new to everything too so I've only worn it three times. It was definitely great for when I went for a walk. I didn't like having the bag against my skin when tucked into my underwear. The wrap is like a band around your abdomen and there are pockets inside to tuck in your bag. This might be my work go-to. From the outside, if it poked out from under your shirt, it would look like a cami.

I've also thought about using belly bands (another wrap product made for pregnant women - cheap ones found at target). There are also "fake cami's" advertised on TV - once again it's just a circle of fabric made to look like the bottom of a cami. I've seen them at Bed Bath and Beyond.

I know exactly what you mean about the pants. It's so hard to find pants that fit well and you want to keep them! And plus, they are expensive!
