So, I am almost four months post surgery for my ileostomy, (October 25th will be four months), and I am looking to get back into a workout routine. I was just curious as to whether or not I will have any major limitations, can I do sit ups and pushups without causing any problems? I've been doing some light weight lifting already and that seems to be going well for me. I just don't want to over-do anything and cause a problem.
Thanks in advance

You should be able to do anything. Check with your doctors, particularly lifting weight overhead. But other than that... no reason to limit yourself. Situps, pushups.. definitely have been fine for me and pretty soon after each surgery. But start slowly and listen to your body.
good luck

I would wait a little while still to do situps, because your muscles can take up to a year to heal, but usually 6 months is fine. I think push ups would be fine. Maybe do some planks for ab work. After my first sugery I was in the gym after about
6 months, then I started insanity about
a year after surgery. After my adhseion surgery, I went back to insanity after about
2 months, but waited to about
5 months to do the cardio ab routine. Its been about
6 months now and I started a weight routine. I just ordered tapout xt, and I will see how that goes! Mainly just listen to your body and go slow. If you do 5 pushups and your body hurts, next time do 3, or if you lift 10bs and nothing hurts next timelift 12 {those are just random numbers}. Good luck!

My doctor warned about
heavy lifting with a ileo...said it cause hernia problems later after takedown. I have been trying not to lift anything super heavy and walk as much as I can...

Hmm. I won't be having a takedown. I wonder if I should still be careful with the lifting.
