Anyone ever had a prolapse?

Hi all,
Recently I've been having pain around my stoma area (sometimes it's like up to 2-3 inches away from it) and it feels like tight muscles. I've had that before and even had surgery for it (in a different spot) to see if it was adhesions, and it ended up being nerve damage, so I'm trying to just ride it out because that was some EXPENSIVE nerve damage that ended up resolving on its own after the surgery.

Now I just changed my pouch and my stoma is slightly (maybe 1/2 inch) longer than I remember it being. I know stomas move around through peristalsis and stuff, so I don't want to overreact. But I'm a worrywart.

I've read that during a prolapse you can lose blood supply to your stoma and it can turn dark red or black. My stoma is not dark. If anything it's light pink.

What do I need to look out for and should I be worried? I've been diagnosed with anxiety so I'm not sure if I'm just making a mountain out of a mole hill.

After my colectomy/ileostomy was healed and stitches gone my stoma was out about 1 1/2 to 2 inches and hung down. It was impossible to put a wafer on correctly. I always had leaks and horrible ulcers. My stoma hurt just climbing stairs. My stoma was healthy, just out too much. Surgeon said "I can fix it". So he did and my stoma was then retracted. Hard to get a good wafer seal. Leaks and ulcers. Surgeon said "I can fix it". So he did. Did not work. Still retracted. Constant leaks and blowouts. To this day sometimes out , sometimes retracted. However, with a convatec convex wafer and good ol' Friars Balsam Compound I have no leaks or blowouts.

I don't think I ever lost blood supply to my stoma. It was not black. I think the issue with a prolapse is that it is hard to get the wafer on close enough to the stoma to get a good seal.

Do you have ulcers around your stoma? Do you have trouble getting a good seal?

I had a stoma prolapse that was very obvious , first off it was out about 2 inches and would always hurt like a really dull ache then it started to prolapse to about 6 or 7 inches swollen and would move sort of like a worm up and down , always had to change my bag when this happened so I had. To have a cut to fit supply as well I found wearing a support panty girdle would make it shrink back to almost normal size but ended up having a repair half months ago ,
This happened over a two year period on and off so wouldn't panic unless your stoma turns a purple color

No, I don't have ulcers or anything around my stoma. In fact, it hanging a little longer (It's maybe a little over an inch now) helps. My pain seems to be more like the feeling of thick output working its way through. Sometimes that is the case, but it didn't use to hurt when that happened. The pain is there sometimes and not there other times. It's not consistent.

I will keep an eye on it...I'm glad it is not an immediate concern, but I will definitely be aware of it.
