Without wanting to jinx myself, I think things may be slowing improving
I'm now 6 weeks post surgery and I think starting to see some improvement in my tolerance of solid food and consistency of my output. I'm still having a pretty limited diet and am very, very careful with what I eat (no meat or fibre, tiny portions and only pureed veg and fruit etc), but it's tolerable, I'm eating more, have stopped losing weight and am back running.
It's by no means 'normal' but certainly much, much better. I wonder if it just took time to adjust having been on liquids for so long before surgery. Then the trauma of surgery on top.
I was booked in for a contrast test in January, but am canceling it.
I still have to make a decision about
reversal or permanent stoma at some point, but for now I'll take this! If this is as good as it's going to get then that's fine with me. May even try a little Christmas dinner
