I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on this forum! I know my story is nothing compared to several of you and the struggle you've lived with. I have learned so much about ostomies and life through this.
When I woke up with a bag I was scared, confused and (thanks to all the drugs) severely depressed, I had complications along the way, and one of my many visits to the hospital, I met a woman who was debating a colostomy. Her mother said she did not want her to have any type of bag because she didn't want her daughter to be a "freak". I couldn't believe someone would say or even think that. I have never been so humbled or grateful in my entire life. My husband did his very best to keep my head up and help me, but this site and reading everyone's post got me through it!
Thank you all and I continue to follow everyone!
And life post-takedown= no complications, some constipation and praying for a new addition to our family this year ;-)
