I have a 12 year old daughter who has been experiencing waves of cramping and sometimes sharp pain for over a week now. She says she is having regular bowel movements, so that is why I am not thinking she has a blockage. Just yesterday she has said that she felt nauseous. I would like to add that right after her third surgery and takedown she had a blockage due to Scar tissue. It has been a year and four months since then.

We have made an appointment with her gastroenterologist. Her pediatrician believes they are adhesions. If so what can be done about adhesions?

I know exactly how she feels if her pain is truly adhesions.  My doctor said that this is something that I must simply deal with.  If hers says otherwise, though, I would love to know because it hurts really bad!

Poor baby, hope it gets better for you.
I have had adhesions too, and they are painful. I have had them cleaned up during other subsequent surgeries and feel a bit better. But they are painful, you may ask about a light massage on the abdomen..sometimes that can help. Best of luck to both!!

Mrsbugzy, what facility/hospital removed your ovarian cyst? I have a 6 inch complex ovarian cyst possibly entangled with adhesions and small intestines. My gynocologist said that I was special. He is giving me referral to a shames hospital gynecology oncologist, but he doesn't think that I have cancer. It's just that they are more skilled for this type of surgery. What kind of surgeon did you have? They said it would be a very risky surgery for me.

Ostomy girl,
apparently I am hard on surgerons..after my surgeries they leave! lol...my stomach surgeon went to Afghanistan 1 month after my surgery, then 2 months after my cyst removal, that doc took an administrative job in Boston...lol...
Anyway, to answer your question... my surgeries were ALL done in Burlington VT. There are GREAT surgeons there! and all the area hotels have arrangements with the hospital..IF you go to FLetcher Allen Health Care, you can search physicians there.

Dr. Everett is in the same office as my doc was..they work in teams there. In fact, I had to see her on my last hospital stay..she is pretty personable..The other one you may like is Dr. Neil Hyman, but he is a colorectal guy, not gyno. But he us oneof the best docs I have EVER met..
