Still lots of rectal pain

4 weeks out of and my wife still has a lot of rectal pain from an anal fissure that is left over from the "old" days.

We can't seem to get a clear answer on when to expect the thing to heal and the paid to go away. The most common answer is 4 to 6 weeks, but at 4 weeks it hasn't even begun to feel better. Creams designed to help topically with the pain only aggravate it and make it burn more, same with sits baths.

Any experience in this area?

Haven't had this, but do have pain in that area from passing so much bile.. the only thing that helps me is plain vaseline.. Not sure it would help your poor wife though. Do you have a bidet? and definatly a GOOD toilet paper makes all the difference in the world!
