First problem is I keep throwing up I can't even keep water down for what seems more like 4 hours
I tend to have hiccupfits where icontinue for a good 15-20m and that's neverhaplened to me, the ending of that fit is either a thrown up about
950 CC of fluid or left exhausted waiting for it to start over again.
I had an NG tube in night before last which basically stopped producing source they took it out OUCH a CTi had scan what could have been a blockage whichwas the reason for Ng tube. Those thing s are not fun.....since I just three up again about
another 950cc they told me NO MORE WATER no more icechips and will be going for x rays here soon again I personally think I was just over doing it with the water. I love love love water so instead of sips they were more like mini swallows....any ideas?

I'm notorious for throwing up non stop after every surgery I have had. For me I think it's a reaction to the anesthesia. How long has this been going on? I remember it all calming down after about
3 days. Hope you feel better real soon.

Dg,
Sorry to hear you are having trouble.. But, glad your vomiting has slowed down..
It is really important to take it slow and listen to your body.. Gets lots of rest, and slow down your water..small sips.. are you using a straw? It is a good way to judge how much is too much.
and lots of walking will help. get up as often as you can, but sleep as much as your body wants you to!
After my surgery I was discharged too early,(after 5 days) and ended up back in ( 2 days after discharge) for 3 WEEKS for an obstruction..slow is the key!
Good luck!! How are you feeling with your pouch??

just start slowly when eating. don't eat the whole tray they bring you at once. slowly slowly.. its your ticket out of there!
and walk after you eat to keep things moving through.
good luck

Many of us experience an Ileus where your intestines don't quite wake up or wake up and go back to sleep for a little while. Sometimes there is stoma function sometimes there isn't...take it slow and don't rush. It's best to be in the hospital and not go home and have to go back...either way it's no fun but it does improve, I swear!
ddd45 is right with the walking...that is the best thing you can do to keep things moving.
