Why are some stomas almost in center instead of off to right?

I see some youtube videos and photos online with stomas almost dead center (in terms of left vs right) - maybe slightly off to the right but just barely. Why in heavens name would anyone want it protuding out in that position? It seems to me that the most inocouous and easy to conceal position would be below the beltline and noticably to the right.

My stoma is about 2 inches below and 2 inches to the right of (if I'm looking down at it) my belly button...maybe an inch and a half...but certainly not in the center. From what I understand it can't be too far to either side because the pelvic/hip and other bones would get in the way, and it has to fit/be placed a certain way around your ab muscles. There is a lot that goes into being sure a stoma is in just the right place to make it work the best it can.
