My apologies if I've asked this question before...my senior moments...
Does anyone have any problems with hunger after getting a jpouch? I don't know if this is what's caused it but I just can't seem to control my hunger and it's started ever since my very first surgery last year.
My problem now is that I just continuously keep eating from like 8 am to like 1 pm and come 2 pm, it feels like I start settling down and then I hardly eat after that. Then, the cycle repeats the next morning.
Before I had my surgery (my UC days), I was pretty normal eating 3 meals a day and was able to become full and it's not like I ate big portions, either. My diet was rather restricted due to the disease.
But then, I recall when I had my very first surgery last year, soon after when my surgeons started me on a liquid diet, I remember going down to the store in the hospital and buying a small bag of candy. I would just eat the whole bag in a day or two. Soon after surgery, I was craving sweets so bad. That didn't stop even after I had my takedown, but now I'm somehow trying to control the sweet tooth. My issue now is with the hunger.
How is everyone else? Are you able to get full after a meal? What is your routine like? Is my issue something I should bring up to my GI or surgeon?
