Well, it's now about
6 months out from my takedown .... and life is definitely getting back to normal. For the past week, I have finally been sleeping through the entire night without getting up to use the bathroom (was getting for a while as often as 3-4x a night, which was killing me). And I celebrated my 42nd birthday the other day with a lovely salad, a steak, and lots of champagne, with no ill effects (and salad has been my nemesis to this point). I still go anywhere from 4-10x a day, but with absolutely no urgency or pain (and no long trips to the bathroom - not getting much reading done anymore!), which is the best thing. I actually leave for work in the morning now without that "last minute just in case" trip to the bathroom, drink coffee on the drive in, and don't immediately need to go when I get to work after a 45 minute drive! That to me is a huge measure of success! I feel better than I've felt in a dozen years, and I am so glad I chose to have this surgery. It hasn't always been easy, and I know I will still have challenges, but overall, things are looking up
