Wear time for iliostomies

I've been told to change my wafer 3-4 days due to the enzymes in my stool. I'm trying out Coloplast's flex 2 piece system and so far I've been able to wear the wafer up to 5 days!!! I'm hoping I can stretch it out a week...even if it's only a bag I need to change midway.

has anyone else tried longer wear time?

I wear a two piece Convatec system and use an Adapt barrier ring. I typically get 6-7 days wear time.

I use a Hollister one piece cut to fit. I go 2-3 days. I could go longer.

I'm like PoucherinTO for wear time. I use Hollister New image 2-piece and go 5-6 days and could probably go 7, but I work out/sweat and shower a lot, and showers sometimes work water into little wrinkles in the outer adhesive, so I don't want to push things too much. I rarely ever bother to change the pouch midway- the velcro tip easily lasts a week or more and I dont find that older pouches are any issue.

PS i use Eakin seals. No powders, lotions, prep or anything, just a normal shower with my stoma commando, with soap and water before I change.

I have a colostomy, so you didn't really ask me, but I change everything every other day. I wear the Hollister New Image 2-piece system. Sometimes I can get many days wear time out of appliances if I'm in the hospital and a shower is not possible. Otherwise, the water plus other issues with my skin weeping (pyoderma) limit me to every other day at best. Sometimes, I change every day.
