I felt unwell at first, crampy pain but not too bad. The pain started getting worse and worse until my ribs were hurting all the way to my pubic bone.
It was so unbearable that I couldn't sleep. My stoma was moving around, but nothing was coming out.
Pain pills didn't help the pain was so intense.
My stoma was practically bending over trying to work.
Omg, it was terrible. I've only had one pain worse than the blockage pain and that was rectal pain. The blockage pain was worse than child birth.
I hope I never experience another blockage.
How I got it moving was walking and lots of pickle juice, sugar free ice cream, more pickle juice.
It took a couple of days to get the blockage resolved and when it released, I had about a gallon of green water into the bag in 24 hours. I thought I was gonna get dehydrated, but I just kept drinking fluid and I was fine.
My doctor was not very sympathetic and told me to get to walking and pushing fluids, no food. He said if I didn't start having output in a couple of days, then to come back in. I was shocked that he would send me home in that much pain, but I survived it.
He said more surgery only promoted more adhesions, so I really needed to pray it unblocked itself. I am 8 weeks out from my last surgery now.
I am just going back to no fibrous foods, no nuts, no fresh fruits or vegetables. I am basically eating only white foods which I have gained weight on, but I don't know what else to eat.
