Manual dilation of stricture?

So my husband, colon removed, with j pouch 18 yrs ago,has been having more and more frequent blockages...I found a pamphlet that mentioned 'manual dilation' of the stricture and wondered if anyone has had that done? And does it work?

I haven't done that, I think most people have a surgeon do the dilation. You might find a thread on Jpouch.org. When was the last time your husband saw his GI or surgeon?
