Lower Back Pain

Hi all,

It's been a while since I've been in here. I have a question. Have any of you experience what it feels like to be a chronic lower back pain? The pain feels like a deep, dull pain with an occasional sharp spasm. Getting up in the mornings is a chore for me. I've had my j-pouch since 2012 and the lbp started shortly afterwards. However, the lbp would come and go. So I thought it had to do with my bed. Now, I'm starting to think it isn't.

Could be a leak of the intestine. A year ago i kept having lower back pain and the occasional sharp pains down my legs. I had a hole in tip of jpouch that caused a spinal infection. I went back to an ostomy and they did surgery to try and repair leak but it didnt take. Not sure if they will attempt again or not.

I have a permanent illeo - have had a few bouts of sciatica (which probably resulted from years of prednisone use), but the sciatica was 'cured' with 1 week supply of, you guessed it, prednisone! Love it! I do have some lower back pain and did not think an intestinal leak could cause that...if it continues, I will have it checked out...

Could be enteropathic arthritis or even ankylosing spondylitis, both of which are related to UC. The fact that it improves with activity is characteristic of both.
