definitely try a barrier ring! They saved me... get some samples of Eakins ASAP, or any brand, really. I tear the ring apart, then wrap it around the base of the stoma, & overlap the edges, smushing them together like Play-doh. Then put the wafer over the whole thing, & press down a bit. I also blast the whole thing with a hair dryer for a minute or so to "set" it. I just use powder, Eakin seal, wafer & bag And the rings will help heal any broken skin you have, don't need to worry about small wounds or anything. Good luck, you will figure it out! In the beginning, I do think a 2 piece may be easier, simply because it's easier to position the wafer when you can really see around the whole stoma.
