I had my stoma moved a few months ago. My old stoma always had a lump behind it, and now that I'm losing weight, I realize that the lump is still there, behind the incision where my stoma used to be. The new stoma doesn't have a lump behind it.
When the lump was behind my stoma, the medical folks just said that sometimes it heals that way. When I talked on the phone about feeling the lump again now, the nurse said not to worry about it, since it's hard it's probably scar tissue, not an incisional hernia, which would feel liquidy.
I don't think it's a big deal, although the lump gives me a rather weird looking belly. It's about the size of a big plum (or small peach), most prominent when I've been standing for a while... sticks out enough so I can definitely see the curve (presume if I lose more weight, it'll be more visible ...after surgery I thought the scar just was at a funny angle and would change over time).
I think it's highly unlikely that it's a tumor or something, as I just had surgery and a CT before, and surely they would have noticed then if something was awry, as that's exactly where the surgery was. I see my gi in a few weeks, and will have him poke around just to be sure.
No problem to solve here, just wondering what kinds of lumps you might have left after surgery....
