I've felt slightly nauseous all day today... The past few days I've felt weaker. Slight bloating. Loss of appetite. Of course I haven't drank or eaten much today either... I've had an ileostomy for a few months now and have "indeterminate colitis". I am going to have another scope soon to make sure there's no other inflammation (sign of crohns). After this I'll have my second surgery depending on the outcome of the scope.

Could this be a flare? Even after I've had a total colectomy? I've been stressed about school lately also so maybe that's why I feel like this?

I've been off of prednisone for ~2 months. Got put on colchicine about a month ago to control mouth sores. Was going pretty well up until now.

also, have had a sore throat for the past few weeks. Dr said I had a small ulcer in the back of my throat so they bumped up my dose of cilchicine.
Not sure how helpful this info is.

If you have been on prednisone and are feeling poorly, there is always the possibility that your adrenal glands are still somewhat suppressed from the use of corticosteroids and producing low cortisol.

Symptoms of low cortisol include nausea/vomiting, general malaise, unrelenting fatigue, "brain" fog/decreased concentration, low blood pressure. It can feel like a bad case of the flu, on-going.

Subclinical adrenal insufficiency (low cortisol) can be a troubling by-product of the use of prednisone.

You can ask your MD to get a blood laboratory test of your baseline morning cortisol and baseline ACTH (the pituitary hormone that directs the adrenal glands).

I have adrenal insufficiency from long-term use of corticosteroids. It is a condition that has little public awareness but is increasing in overall incidence with the use of corticosteroids (ex. steroids given with chemotherapy; steroids given for UC; steroids given for asthma).

Nausea has gotten worse past few days. Can hardly eat. Feel awful today. Weak. Scared of getting dehydrated again.

I am sorry Niks. I guess there are a few things that could be going on. THe pathology from your colon after the removal was indeterminate? or it was always indeterminate since you were diagnosed? I really hope it's not crohn's but the symptoms could be - they could also be other things. Have you seen a GI lately? I have some kind of a flu the past couple days and I feel very nauseous and I have no appetite too. It's the worst. I also have a sore throat, congestion, fatigue...
