Still kicking. Reversal was last Friday. Surgery went good and was out of the hospital by Sunday. However since then very up and down and having a hard time with my attitude. Back to having accidents and yesterday all I could think was this was a mistake and I want my bag back.
Today is better and I keep telling myself between TPN and the ostomy my colon was dormant for almost 4 months. It's just really hard when I felt so great to go backwards again!!

That stinks but it was very recent. I am sure things will begin to look up. My situation was pretty crazy immediately following surgery. You have to give yourself time to fully heal. I know what you mean, there were times I felt like, with the bag, it was easier because I could empty at my convenience... With the jpouch, you can empty when you want but it's more often than i'd like. I think patience is the key.

Well I'm already back in the hospital. This sucks! One week after my loop I was already going out to lunch and shopping. One week after take down and I'm back in the hospital and feel as awful as I did this summer before all of this!

I'm so sorry! Why are you in the hospital? Hopefully it'll be a quick stay. Things will look up, I'm sure. Hang in there!

I'm home. Only a two day stay. I'm so sick of the hospital! I was severely dehydrated, I had been going to the bathroom every hour and could barely eat. I got fluids and iv antibiotics for the inflammation. Seems like a combo of my colon isn't working yet and some colitis .

I am sorry. How are you feeling now that you're home? I hate the hospital too. I hope I can avoid it for a LONG time. Are you using a supplement in your water for the dehydration? I don't know what I would have done without the drops I was using. I was so dehydrated.

Yes I have been using the same electrolyte drops when in had my loop. Ironic 10 weeks with the loop and I was never dehydrated, one week reconnected and in was a mess.
I think it was because I was getting so little down. It was so hard to eat or drink anything last week. That has gotten a little better.
My surgeon contacted my GI and now they want me back on rectal meds. I can't believe after all this and I'm back to enemas.

I bet that's what is causing it, not eating and drinking properly. If you can't get anything down or keep anything down, it's very hard to stay hydrated :( Hopefully you're okay to start getting back to normal. I don't think enemas are a bad idea actually, if that's all you need to keep things in check, that would be pretty great. I hope that's all I need if I deal with inflammation in the future. I know it's not ideal but it's way less invasive than a lot of the meds.
