Bowel prep fr surgery tomorrow, really nervous

Surgery is Thursday for sure now, they found OR time. I start my bowel prep tomorrow morning at 10 am. I am so nervous. It hurts so much when I go to the bathroom I can't imagine the prep right now. Especially because tonight is the last time I can take pain medication. At night after I go that Norco is the only thing to help.

Any tips from anyone who has done a bowel prep really sick? I have my bidet, wipes, calmoseptine all ready it's just those aren't even helping the severe rectal pain right now.

Good luck tomorrow!!!! I don't have nay tips, really about the prep, but just remember- this is your LAST PREP EVER!!! You can get thru it. My last one was REALLY bad too, but it'll go fast. Post when you are able!

I'd try to go on a liquid diet prior if you are healthy enough, it might make the prep easier if you aren't eating solid foods.

Believe it or not, my surgeon didn't require me to take a bowel prep. YEah...shocked? Well, I was too!! When I asked him what prep to take, he said, "clear liquids for 24 hours." HUH????? I had him repeat it because I couldn't believe what my ears were hearing!!!! For good measure, I stayed on clear liquids for 48 hours. I'm still here, so guess he knew what he was doing! That was in June of 2010.
