Yes, I was able to go back to a normal life. A normal life that consists of a few extra trips to the bathroom. When you're released from the hospital you'll follow your surgeon's orders such as not lifting anything heavy for a period of time driving, ect. I suggest going slow with food at first. You'll get a sense when to be come more adventurous with different foods. Make sure you have a good barrier cream on hand. (I like Calmoseptine). As far as getting up at night to go......sometimes I get up once to go and sometimes I don't have to. For me there's no real rhyme or reason to it. Luckily I always fall right back to sleep.
In a nut shell, expect things to be a little crazy at first. It takes some time for your body to heal and adjust. Everyone adjusts to life after takedown in different time intervals. For me it was back to life as usual in 3 weeks. I was very fortunate to have adjusted quickly. For others, it may take longer. When is your takedown date?
