Ongoing skin issues not related to stoma

Since there's so much knowledge stored here.... Does anyone know about colitis associated skin issues? My son has had red bumps that look sort of like folliculitus since the uc began. He cleared up almost completely during his 18 day stay in the hospital after having his end ileostomy created. But yesterday the backs of both arms (where it has been the worst) got very inflamed again after looking like he was nearly completely healed. Is this associated with uc? What can we know before he sees a dermatologist. He's seen his regular doctor over the past 2 years and he prescribes various antibiotics and creams. Nothing works though the antibiotics do help. And I think the antibiotics he was getting after surgery really helped to clear things up almost entirely. Anyway. You may not have any answers for this, but maybe someone knows what's going on. Wow. Yeah that actually helps. I hope the dermatologist can help get this under control. I would think having "cured" the UC with surgery, this would have gone away for good. I guess it's coming back now that he's out of the hospital and off of all the antibiotics. I hope this can be cured.

If anyone has experienced the skin conditions associated with uc and has had success with a treatment, please let me know how your condition was treated so that he has some info going into the dermatologist. Thank you.

Apparently, it was steroid acne. It's almost gone now. It's a lot better than it was. After reading about it, I can't understand why doctors didn't figure out what it was sooner.
