Pre-surgery question

Hi all-

I have a simple question. I got acrylic nails put on (been trying to keep myself preoccupied before surgery), and my surgery is tomorrow.

I just remembered the nurse mentioning that they used to make patients take their nail polish off before surgery, but they don't usually anymore.

Does anyone know if my acrylics will be a problem?

I was instructed to have no nail polish but don't know about acrylic nails. I think they put that oxygen monitor on your finger so they can monitor your oxygen. I had my surgery on an emergency basis and the nurse in pre-op had a fit because I had toenail polish on but they didn't make me take if off.
