I can eat normally. I am fluctuating from being nauseated to being hungry. While in hospital took zophran every 4 hours scheduled. Nausea would get out in front of me and it was very difficult to get back under control. The nausea would make it so I couldn't tell what hurt or where.
Called Dr. After posting. He said go back to 4 hour schedule on zophran. Pain pills (novco??) Every 4 hours if NEEDED, but the pain meds shut down kidneys and bladder in hospital so I should really try not to take them. They do not want to give me anything for pain. They're hoping if we can get nausea under control I'll deal with pain better.
Incision really hurts. It feels so full? Bloated? My sides also ache, like they're bruised but can't see anything. Watery D in bag... Stoma was quiet all day but making noise now. I can feel my insides pushing stuff thru to stoma. Sorta uncomfortable. Yesterday Bag was full of gas and thick stool and I felt ok...today not so much.
My spouse has me walking. I've been eating. The only thing that "sits" well is (I got this ok'd before I tried) pork rinds and Gatorade or water and orange sherbert. So gagging has finally stopped. Will try eggs and potatoes in am. They were fine in hospital but the thought of any other foods but sherbert or pork rinds make me want to run to the bathroom.
