Convatec Sure-fit Natura pouch questions

Hello all, and a happy new year!!!

A quick question about the Sure-fit Natura pouch. The filter - it's not a type I've been used to, round instead of the two 'black lines.' What issues have you had with this round type filter, and how has it performed as far as letting gas through and leakages. I'm asking because I've been using the Natura+ pouch, but due to various changes in design, I am looking for a new pouch. I use the Convatec moldable wafer.

I just got a sample of the Sure-fit Natura, and like the fact that the tail has four folds instead of three (first good thing I found). And, second, the edge of the pouch has a complete edge seal (vs. the Natura+ pouch which has a partial edge seal....the seal does not extend all the way to the edge, which has caused some seepage at the top when that edge separates).

I just opened a box of my regular pouches (natura +) and they seem to be the Sure-fit Natura instead, even though they have the same product number. I'm not sure if they changed the product or there's a mistake, but they look like they are the right size and everything. I didn't realize there were two types of bag with such similar names....

Just wondering how you ended up liking the Sure-fit Natura. My first concern was at the tail.... on the Natura +, I always cut off the little bit of plastic at the end so that the stiffer part of the tail is right at the end (I'm not sure whether this was what you were talking about regarding the "seal extending to the edge"). Once the plastic flap is off, it's easier to clean when emptying.

However on the new one, there are still two pieces of stiff plastic, but they are at different heights on each side, so cutting them off will not work in the same way.

I also always cover the filters, so it sounds like that's a good idea here too.

Sigh.... I don't like the convatec bags at all.... with my first stoma I always used coloplast, but the convexity isn't enough for me now.....

But I'll give it a try..... may also call convatec to see what's going on.
