Blister's on stoma

Hello, about 7 wks ago i had emercency colostomy surgery and everything has been going pretty well with my stoma, until now! My stoma is COVERED in blister's, kinda like the blisters you would get in mouth, and they bleed if i touch them. It wouldn't bother me so much if there were just a couple, but like i said, the entire stoma is covered with them. I have researched it and i can't find any info on what it could be. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!!

Unfortunately i don't have a stoma nurse. So i'm pretty much at loss with this. The surgeon didn't tell me anything as to what to expect, so i'm just trying to fumble my way through.

My smart phone changed stoma to stomach- sorry.

I would go in to see my colo rectal surgeon as soon as possible. I have not had this issue so I can't think of what it might be. The first thing that comes to mind is a contact allergic reaction or.....well gosh I just don't know.

Or perhaps you could call the hospital where you had your surgery? I used to do that also.

It would concern me also. Your stoma does not have nerve endings so there isn't any pain to indicate if it is getting worse.

I agree with the others to have it checked out, maybe you are allergic to the glue or ring your bag sits on, if that is the kind of bag system that you have? Do you have an Ostomy Nurse you could call that would advise you what to do?
