no reversal surgery

Well went to the doctors in november and Iam not going to have the reversal surgery. I haven't heard many good things about it and my sister has a friend that had the surgery and has had complications ever since. the doctors are talking about reversing her back to a bag. I do go in jan 9 for them to remove more colitis and rectum and sew everything up so I will have a bag for the rest of my life. has anyone had this surgery and how are you doing? any complications? I'II be in hospital for 7 to 10 days and recovery for about 5 weeks. the doc. seemed to agree with me about this operation. because of colitis still there there would't be enough probably to reattach. if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

thanks for replying. I did have the surgery and was in 4 days.they removed the rest of colitis and colon and rectum.so I have the bag now. I'll be back to work the end of feb as long as no complications set in. I had many the first surgery. I almost didn't make it in june when I had the first surgery to remove the colitis.I was so bad they couldn't keep me long on the table so thats why the second surgery.I was going to have it reversed but my sister has a friend that had it done and has nothing but problems. the doc are thinking of doing surgery again on her and give her back the bag.I don't mind the bag but I need to get the right one. One irritated my skin and the one without the filter held to much air.hope you continue to do well. thanks again
