Can you choke your stoma?

Is it possible to choke your stoma with an eakin seal by mistake? Yesterday, I had to make the hole smaller as part of my skin was red. I went from a 28" to a 25". There's no skin.

There's output, it's not acting different beyond maybe a little less output than normal.b

My stoma nurse told me never to put anything around my stoma that cut off blood supply. Its really bad for your stoma and sometimes they don't recover and you have to have surgery...

So I haven't done that....but I have placed my eakin right around the stoma and it has swelled up around it...but I still had normal output....so I don't think thats cutting off blood supply....but I guess I could be wrong.

I would probably call my wound care or stoma nurse just to be sure.
