Drainable or non drainable bag

I tried the closed bags but I just "went" to much. It was much less expensive for me to use the desirable bags.
Depending on what type of 2 piece you have-the company may have a closed bag that will work with the base appliance you already use and have. At least that way you could try them and have different options.

I think drainable pouches work best for people with frequent discharge and liquid stool. And the skin barrier doesn't need to be changed every time, so the skin experiences less damage.
Even though both kinds have their advantages, I think the drainable ostomy pouches are better.
And no, one-piece pouches are not costlier. If you compare the price point of both the type of pouches, the drainables are costlier.
But yes, this is a matter of preference. The more you try the varieties, the better you understand what works best.

Drainable two piece has worked well for me for years. Make sure the bag " clicks" securely onto the wafer. Some brands don't leave room on the edge for your fingers to grip and press, you do NOT want to push down over your stoma.
