I've had my BCIR for 16 years and know exactly what you mean. I think the portion of small bowel that is outside the abdominal wall maybe gets kinks in it? It started giving me issues a couple of years ago. I have about
3 obstacles/kinks now when I intubate. I have to twist the tube slightly counterclockwise for first kink, (just barely inside), then again keep twisting it one way or another while gently inserting, to make it past the 2nd one. That gets me into the pouch, but there seems to be another kink to get around to the deepest part of the pouch for full emptying.
Also, if you are on Facebook, there's a great BCIR group there that is more "active."
