I think a lot of gas is normal after any revision to your ileostomy because things have to wake back up and get used to functioning again. I think in 2 weeks you'll be feeling much better. In the mean time you can try eating and drinking at separate times or try taking beano with your meals, this can help to cut back on gas.
As for a partial obstruction, there was a period of time for me when I was having them about every 4 days because of some complications I experienced. You will feel a lot of cramping, your stomach will grumble a lot and your stomach may also feel quite hard. It's like everything wants to get out (which is why your stoma tends to get noisier) but nothing can escape. With a partial blockage you may still have a little bit of liquid getting out but with a full blockage nothing will get out and you may feel nauseous...if that happens go to emergency right away.
Blockages tend to be caused by not chewing your food enough and some foods tends to be thicker than others and don't digest as easily (like certain fruits and veggies, and thicker meats). So always chew, chew, chew! And drink LOTS of water. If you feel a blockage coming on drink a glass of grape juice, drink tea, or sometime drinking something carbonated will help to get things moving again. I find tea and grape juice work best for me. You can also try placing a heating pad over your stoma (not directly against the skin though) because sometimes heat will get things moving. Also, if your stoma looks swollen remove your wafer and put one that has a bigger hole on it until the blockage passes.
I hope you feel better and do not experience any more blockages in the future!
