yearly ostomie costs

I'm probably not like most because I change mine at least twice a week. I'm fairly active and I like a new faceplate on especially before an important business meeting. Plus I always use M9 deodorant drops and stoma paste, which can add up. So, to answer your question I spend about $125/month on supplies. I never had the kind of seal that would let me go more than a few days without it loosening up. The extra cost is worth the peace of mind to me. So, after 17 years with an ostomy, I've spent about $25K on supplies. If you figure I change my appliance at least twice a week(usually 3 times), over 17 years is over 1,700 changes!!!

Im the same as Shaz, I get my supplies for free in the UK. Lucky really because it would work out mega expensive otherwise!!

That's cool. Mine doesn't cover it at all.

I order my supplies from a company over the phone (Edgepark) - usually all I pay is the shipping charge. When I look at the invoice they send I'm amazed because the bags alone are $80/box (granted this is not what my insurance pays the co) - I can hardly believe that people w/o insurance would have to pay that - or is Edgepark just a crappy company?
