Does anyone else use Colyte bowel prep a few times per month as a laxative? Have been taking magnesia (3 tablespoons per night or 12 Phillip's tablets) but sometimes that doesn't work and I have to melt the whole mess down with Colyte. Am very scared of what I'm doing to my body.
Outlet obstruction was determined by anorectal manometry. Need defecogram to see if outlet issue is one that can be fixed. Has anyone had a defecogram with any other contrast than barium paste? I'm worried the barium might not come out and harden.
(I got this whole laxative dependence thing from having sigmoid colon removed due to redundant sigmoid which caused many, many partial moves each morning rather than just a few normal ones. Then I developed a surgical stricture which surgeon ignored. Even with it dilated at another hospital, I still have problems getting stool out. Need to keep stool liquidy. My transit time was just great back in July prior to sigmoid removal; never should have had it done; I learned. Did the transit test, but had to cheat and take a few fleet enemas as I form stool and get the urge to go every morning just can't get it out. Does this sound like colon inertia or does my problem sound different? Am new to this site and think it's great. esoR
