Thanks for your response,
You asked why I had to have my colostomoy.I had something called Stress Fecal Incontinence. The dotor said that it was not that common, unless someone has had a stressful life. That I have had since 1966.It was one thing after another. At the end, before I had my colostomy done,I was having a hard time controling my bowels and my gas.I had to see many of doctors and have many of test done. All of the doctors that I saw played around for about three years, before something was done about it.I would not have it turned around for all of the love in the world. My husband has finaly accepted it,so we can not get on with our life.
As far as my nurse goes, that is a different story.I live in West Virginia, and my colostomy doctor and nurse are way down in Baltimore. It is about an hour and half drive,to get there.I really did not want my surgery done way down there, because of this problem, but he was the specialist that they my one doctor wanted me to see.I am also in touch with a ostomy nurse at the hospital not far from me.Her and my regular stoma nurse are supposed to be exchanging paper work,to that I can be seen by the stoma nurse closest to me.I talked to my regular stoma nurse Monday, and she was supposed to have faxed the paper work over to the other stoma nurse Tuesday, but here it is Thursday, and I have not heard anything from anyone yet.If I don't hear by Monday,I will one of the nursed again.I can not continue wearing the wrong wafer much longer. It is hurting my stoma and it messing up my skin under the wafer.I have to change it everyday, and I know that is not a good thing to do.
