Hello everyone,
This is my first time in this particular forum I am usually in the crohn's forum. I was admitted into the hospital back on Feb 11 and had an intestine resection and was doing well for a few days but I was not passing enough stool even with enemas. On Feb 19th the colorectal surgeon went back in drained an abscess as well as removed 1/3 of my large intestine fearing it would burst soon since it was so impacted. This caused me to have a temporary ileostomy. I am still getting use to the whole thing also after the 2nd surgery my wound became infected so in addition to the ileostomy I get to carry around a wound vac.
My stool is still very watery most of the time no matter what I eat especially when I wake up in the morning. I tend to feel awful in the morning and begin to feel better as the day progresses. I was wondering if anyone else here has had that issue? Is there anything else I can take or eat to help? My doctor has me take 2 imodium in the morning and now I am taking 1 metamucil tablet at bedtime as well.
Another question I have is about pouch cover patterns and if anyone knows any good websites that have patterns?
