Any asvice on what is a good bag for stomas? Been trying a lot of different ones but all are uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, there is no one bag that is good for everyone. What works for one person may not work for another so it's not really something that others can recommend for you. Therefore, you'll have to keep on experimenting until you find the right one for you. Have a word with your stoma nurse. He/she may be able to help you with working out how to make it more comfortable for you. It may just be because you're healing and are still sore or it could be that maybe you're doing something that you shouldn't be when applying the bag.

As long as it takes :) Some accept it immediately and others take a little longer. It helps talking to other ostomates both on forums like this and in real life (if you're able to get to a support group) so you can realise that there really is life after ostomy surgery. Don't beat yourself up for not being able to accept it right now, what you're feeling is perfectly normal. Hopefully, soon, each day will get a little better for you and you'll be here giving advice to others who are at where you are now :)

You can go to different web sites for companies that make the ostomy supplies and order samples. Here are some of the company names, just google them:

Convatec
Hollister
Coloplast
NuHope

They may have phone number to talk to a customer rep who will help you decide what to try. You need to figure out if you're going 1 or 2 piece, open or closed bag, flat or convex, etc..

Sometimes you may have a place locally who sells these supplies. Even if you can't get your supplies there because your insurance makes you order them, you can go talk to the people, maybe even get some samples.
