I had my surgery on April 17th, and the top of my incision still hurts.  And my tummy is still sensitive to the touch, like when my shirt rubs it or something.  I told the surgeon at my 6week appt and he said that was normal and it would go away.  How long did it take before your pain went away?

I have mad my surgery about a month longer than you have and I still have some pain.  It is not that debilitating pain of pre surgery, but rather a muscle cramp type around the stoma.  Bearable but still there.  I was about to ask the same thng youd did, but had not got to it yet. 

A lot to be thankful for, but sure not the whole enchilada is it.?

Mine is kind of like a muscle cramp at my belly button, and around the top of where the bandaid part of the flange touches my skin it hurts, I think because of the pressure it puts there.

Dear cattieos
I have had my stoma 4years now. I have had three surgerys. No luck with a reversial. So i have got on with the fact this is my life. I had all the same troubles you have for the first four months or so. It has been 1 and 1/2 years since my last surgery. I am so used to the care of my ileostomie it is just like brushing my teeth just some thing i do with out thinking about it. I still have some skin iratation that i am trying to work on around the stoma from leaking from time to time. But life is good. I do all the things i did before. And you will too.
