So i'm washing the car since it's such a nice day here.

Mail woman comes and gives me a package. It's my new supplies and i'm happy it's here because i've run out.

  Then i start thinking.....i can't believe i'm happy to see this delivery.

LOL Slice....Last week I was on my last bag/wafer and my wafer was starting to pull away from my stoma. I woke up at 2am in a bed loaded with ...well you know what ~~my bag had leaked. I did not know what to do. I removed the bag, took a shower, changed my sheets, and replaced the dirty bag on my stoma. I loaded myself with stomadhesive to try to seal up the leaks. Finally, at 3:15 I went back to bed. At 4:45 I awoke to that Oh so warm feeling ~~ I had leaked again! I did not know if I should laugh at myself or cry. So, I got everything cleaned up again and I decided to try to stay up-right until morning. I called my nurse and begged her to have someone deliver me something to get me through the day.

At 11am my doorbell rang and it was the UPS man with a box. (I had ordered supplies 3 days prior) I felt like it was Christmas! I was so excited to see him.

Then I had the same thought you did....Am I really happy to get these things? Yup, I am.

Ha. Out of all the things i could have delivered to my house. I.....get......bags. Thrilling. I know back when i first came home from the hospital the home nurses that came over left me with different wafers and bags to try. I did keep all of them, even though they aren't the ones i use now. At least i have back ups to use in case i run out.
So for Christmas Amey's list looks like this:
Wafers
Bags
Stomahesive
Leakless night

LOL - I completely agree. My UPS guy has made lots of trips to my house over the last few months and he probably wonders why I am always SO excited to see him . . . ONE, he's adorable and TWO, he brings me my supplies !! If he only knew what was in those boxes!

Did you ever see the Seinfeld episode where Jerry's girlfriend had a closet full of Today's sponges? That's how I am with ostomy supplies! My insurance pays for a three month box of supplies, which last me six months, but I keep re-ordering, so I'm all stocked up for what...an ostomy supply shortage?!?
If you all ever get low, just email me, and I'll mail you some! :-)

i don't blame you i stock up on stuff like that too, although nto so much with these, my husband always orders them, and he gets slack soemtimes!

I hadn't had a leak in...i don't know how long.
Amey goes and mentions leaks and...BAM..i have a minor explosion leak while at work. Oh just great.
Red Sox lose to the Yanks, and i have a leak. Can it get any worse?!?!

lol, i HATE the yankees! anytime they win it ruins my day! go braves! and for some reason, i have been just paranoid about a leak at work the past week, and before i had never even thought of it

Yeah, it was my fisrt leak at work. Not easy to deal with. Couldn't believe it
But hey, it's alright 'cause we HATE THE YANKEES!!
