Since I am having trouble with this big ulcer under my wafer, the blood and goo from the ulcer is leaking through the wafer, do you think it would be harmful to change my wafer AGAIN, even though I did it less than 24 hours ago? The good news is, I got an appoinment for tomorrow. If I change the wafer now, I'd probably have to change it agian before my apooinment time. Should I change it 3 times in less than two days, or should I stay home so I can stretch it out as long as possible. Meaning, basically wait till the blood and goo has soaked through and the wafer comes up completely? I was trying to stick it out at work, and to runthe errands I have to run, but that would mean changing...

Argh. I can't wait until tomorrow when someone can look at this thing.

Everytime you pull off your wafer you are increasing the irritation and causing more damage to your skin. I would leave it alone as long as possible and try not to aggrevate your sore until you see the nurse. I hope she can offer you some helpful assistance.

that's what I was thinking. It's really freaky to see goop coming through the wafer. It's not poop, though, I checked!

I've had times that I've had to change frequently throughout the day, due to leakage, sores, whatever. Just make sure you use a good skin barrier (3M no sting) and be very careful when taking it off so you don't take skin. Use a lot of the barrier, just make sure it's dry when you put the wafer back on. If your skin gets irritated, at least the 3M won't hurt.

Is it possible to cut around the sore?  Or cover the sore with no stick gauze and then your wafer?
