They don't know what the sore is. They gave me some grey stuff to put over it that will hopefully give me more wear time, and silver nitrated a few spots. Other than that, they said to come back in a week, and if it hasn't gotten better, they would refer me to dermatology. Really? Dermatology? At least they didn't seem overly concerned about it. Now I just hope I can get more than 12 hours of wear out of my wafers.

Well, I'm glad to hear it's not the stoma separating or a fistula. You can deal with a sore, it's just like you said, keeping your wafer on for enough time that you don't make the rest of your sking raw. All I can say is use lots and lots of barrier, my favorite is the 3M.

I'm also glad to hear that it's not stoma or disease related.. doesn't make the problem go away or life any easier with respect to wear time, but aren't you a little relieved as well? Crossing my fingers for you.

I don't have any recommendations for you (imagine that!), because I don't use skin barriers, but from everything I've read and heard about indicates they would be a good idea.

I sure hope the stuff they gave you helps to heal it quickly.
