So i'm having surgery on monday.

They call me to tell me when to arrive......5:30 am!!!

WHAT THE?!?! Man, how about letting the guy who is getting cut

up sleep in maybe??

I guess the good side is i should be awake and still in pain for Monday Night Football, right? yeah

Yeah, you'll get there at 5:30, then you'll have to find someone because no one's in at the front desk yet, then they take you to the surgical area where you get undressed, and wait and shiver, lol.

Good luck, I hope it all goes well for you and that you'll have a nice long remission (and that your pain will be controlled enough that you can enjoy your football).

Don't you just love those early arrival times? That happened to me when I had my ACL reconstruction done. We had to be there at 6 am which means leaving our house 3:30 am because it's a 90-mile drive.

Good luck with your surgery. We'll all be thinking about you. I had my colectomy on a Monday and watched MNF afterwards. My husband was laughing at me because I thought it was the Chargers playing but it wasn't. tongue

That's rough that you have to be there so early, but then again, is there ever a good time to lose your ass? I just want to reassure you that you are going to be okay. They're going to keep you very comfortable with pain medication, and you're going to come though this just fine. Please know that we're thinking about you and are praying for you.

I had to get up at 3am for most of my surgeries so I could be at the hospital by 5am (and of course, the surgeon is never there before I am). The thought that brings me comfort is that I know that eventually I will get to go back to sleep for my surgery and I will get to sleep a lot over the days following. So, don't worry about being tired for your surgery...you'll be back in dream land before you know it.

I am adding you to my morning prayers! Can you have someone contact this forum so we can get an update on your progress?

I'm just looking to complain about something.  hah  I get up for work around 4 am as it is, so it's not like a major issue getting up that early.

 Just hoping the surgeon isn't tired and removes the....wrong......stuff.

Personally, I'd rather be on the surgeon's docket as the first procedure of the day, rather than the last of the day! Esp on a Monday where the dr has had the weekend to recup from a long work week.

yeah that does suck! although i do agree that is best to be the first, the longer you have to wait the longer you have to worry about it! i had to be there at 5:30 the morning of my surgery too, and we had to leave the house at like 3:45, that sucked big fat butt!
anyway, hope it goes well, and do try to have someone let us know!

Good Luck tomorrow.  I will be thinking of you at 5am. OK, maybe not at exactly 5am.  I will still be sleeping. I be thinking of you somewhere closer to 8am...(not a morning person). nono

However, Cecilia gets up early...she will probably think of you around 5am and Peggy is in pain from her shoulder so she might be up too.  tongue

You are in my thought and prayers.  I hope you have an easy surgery and a quick recovery.

Ahhhh, it's just about midnight. I don't see any point in going to sleep. Patriots just killed Buffalo, so at least i'll be in a decent mood when they cut me open. Ok.....not really.
I'll be hanging around all night.
