Good Neurologist?

Was just speaking of this on another post and wondered if anyone can recommend a good neurologist, or any other specialists, groups, etc in Florida.   

We are in the Central Florida area.

I don't know if that is permissible with guideline rules so if not please do not respond here but email me at [email protected].

But if permissible, it may benefit us to respond here.

You might try contacting a local support group or attending a support group meeting. The support group may only be able to give you names of doctors, but not recommendations. If you could attend a support group meeting, you may be able to get first-hand recommendations.

 

A neurologist would be more experienced in Parkinson's issues than a general practitioner. A movement disorder specialist (MDS - a neuro who specializes in movement disorders such as Parkinson's) would have even more experience than a neuro. I'd investigate whether there are any movement disorder specialists in your area (a support group should be able to answer that question). They are few and far between.

Thank you, sounds like good advice and I'll check with my sis to see what type of a neuro they are seeing outside of the VA.
