There has to be some assistance out there

My mom has been living with Parkinsons for 22 years.  She was diagonised when she was 40.  She lives at home with my dad, who is in his early 60's (healthy) and can no longer take care of her but he is too stubborn and selfish to admit it.  My mom got out of the hospital last week for neoropathy in her legs and feet.  She is now in a physical therapy hosipital trying to strengthen her muscles.  When she is at home, all she does is sit in her chair and watches TV.  My sister and I work full time and have our own lives but still make all the time we can to help my mom.  We are looking for guidence, information, suggestions on what help we can get my mom.  She deserves to get the care she needs.  She is such a wonderful person but unfortunetly her husband (my dad) is not willing to pay any of the costs that will require her to get a nurse, live in an Assisted Living home, nothing.  I'm looking for any information or help that anyone has.  Thank you so much for your time.

Thanks, Ed!  I appreicate your quick response.  Yes, mom is on disability.  So I guess that is a great first step.  We are having a "family meeting" next week with a case worker at the physcial therapy hospital she is in.  I am going to see how my dad reacts to the options presented to us.  If he still isn't willing to help out with the costs, then I will contact social services.
