Ever since I have started Mirapex (Dopamine Agonists), more PD symptoms have seem to surface (mainly the foot cramps/spasms, my facial muscles twitching/hurting and my heart feeling like it is about to explode). I have had relief with the pain in my shoulders, my tremor and the strength in my fingers (which were the original symptoms I had), but these other symptoms I am experiencing are worse.
I have just recently been diagnosed 7 weeks ago and have only been on Mirapex 5 weeks. I started off on a low dosage and have been at .5 mg 3x day the past 3 weeks. I have had to take Tigan with it as I was getting really sick. Only after I started the .5 mg dosage did these foot spasms seem to start. I called my doctor and she suggested I try a lower dosage of .375 mg 3x day. That lasted a couple days and called her back after everything got worse. She then said to increase the dosage to .75 mg 3x day - this was just the other day, I haven't started that yet.
Is the Mirapex not working anymore at this dose (and so quickly - after 5 weeks) or am I getting worse? Have I become use to Mirapex so fast that it requires a higher dosage?
Some symptoms did get better, but these foot cramps and spasms are the worse I felt since this whole thing began. If anyone taking Mirapex (and only Mirapex) or has in the past and has gone through something similar to this, please pass along some advice.
