Hi,
Guess I need to see my doctor. I'm 62, have had an increasing problem writing for the last 7 years. Doctors thought it was carpal tunnel related from being a teacher. A year ago I had a prostate operation that has taken a long time to recuperate from. A few months after the operation, I found I was having anxiety attacks when out socially or in large stores, then my writing hand developed a slight tremor which appears off and on even now a year later. My doctor didn't think it was Parkinsons but I guess normal aging! At times it just plain hard to write a few word or type. The typing sometimes is much easier howeve, almost as if there was no problem. It's very confusing.
The last 3 weeks my sleep pattern which is generally fair, has become eradic. I'm falling asleep not bad, but waking up after 2, 3, 4, or 5 hours, and am wide awake; seems like the clock is standing still. Tonight I awoke after an hour and am wide awake and feeling an extreme restlessness. I don't think this is an anxiety attack, it feels different.
Yes, I'll see my doctor again, but I'm wondering if any of you can relate to this or see a patten here related to Parkinsons. I've read on-line here that sleep problems can be part of the Parkinson symptoms, does it mean sleeping too long or having trouble sleeping in general. I wonder. Can anyone shed some light here? Thanks.
