So this started about
a month ago (maybe more.....and I just haven't noticed it).
Anyways I started getting like "trembling" fingers. I guess they are sort of a tremor, but here's a couple of things about
them:
1. They are in both hands, but they aren't my actual hands that tremble, it's my fingers. (My left hang fingers seem a tad bit worse, specifically my left hand thumb)
2. Def. most noticeable in my thumbs
3. Worse in heat (like when taking a hot bath) and they 'seem' worse when im nervous/caffeine
4. They started in both hands
5. Here is the important part: They only tremor/tremble when I move them to a certain "position". Like just sitting there at rest, they are fine. However if im holding them in the air and outstretched they will tremble a bit, or if I move my thumb like sideways to a certain position it will start to tremor. At rest however 99% of the time they won't do anything, unless my fingers are like "hanging" in a certain position that sets them off.
6. I have no other problems with slowness or anything, I type alot at my job (Im a Programmer) so maybe this is related to that? I have sore legs alot but I don't get much sleep and sleep on a crap bed. Plus im sitting all day, other than that......no other issues. (my neuro thinks I have restless leg syndrome). No loss of smell, arm swing is fine (albeit my arms are sometimes sore, but my arms are in a certain "position" from typing all day, but no weakness or anything. Im still able to work out and do pull-ups and such).
Also I am 26 years old, with no family history of PD. I HAVE been to the neuro, had an MRI scan (they were checking for MS) and everything came back clean. However Im a worry wort and forgot to bring up the plausibility of PD to him. He thinks it's environmental (Caffeine/not getting enough sleep/some sort of BFS). However im still a little bit worried.
The thing that keeps my from thinking that it is PD is:
-From what I understand Early Onset is Rare, and even Rarer when theirs no genetic link in the family (NOONE in my family has PD or MS or anything issues like that)
-My Tremor does not happen at rest, and it seems to have started on both hands (even though it's worse in one). And technically ALL of my fingers do it (Tremor when moved to a certain position). Even when my hand is at rest, when I move my finger to a certain position that's not considered a Rest tremor is it? (Since the finger muscle is still in use?) Wouldn't that be postural? (It still does it if im holding my hand in the air too)
-It started on both sides (I thought PD usually only started with A finger on A hand?)......so if it's already "in" both hands wouldn't I be having other symptoms? or at least a progression to worse than what it is?
Someone stated possibly I damaged some nerve in my arm or some sort of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? I mean I am on the computer ALOT......I guess it's possible?
Sorry for the wall of text, but does anyone have any insight? Seems like it'd be a waste for me to go BACK to the neuro, since he never even brought PD up.
