Too weak to walk and no balance

Does anyone have this problem? Up until the end of June my mom was still walking on her own and then all of a sudden she just cannot walk without losing her balance and falling down. I have to walk behind her or beside her to keep her off the ground. When she sits for more than 15 minutes she starts to lean to her side as well. Her doctor just thinks it's a progression PD but I don't know.... Her not being able to walk straight has happened before a year or so ago and each time it was just the PD medication not being absorbed properly or dosing problem but she's at the dose she has always taken to walk normal so I don't get it.

She's had her ears checked and no wax so it's not a ear balance problem. Due to her advancing Dementia she cannot get an MRI because she cannot be in that machine alone without moving around.

I forgot to mention that she had extensive dental surgery in April. She was put under for 3 hours but did not wake up until close to 22 hours later. However a week later she was fine and walking so I was relieved that it did not have any lasting effects on her brain. Maybe I spoke too soon?

I take her for walks daily. 10 to 20 minutes depending on how long she can do it before her legs give out. The good old days she could walk blocks with me but without any assistance and she loved it. Now I have to grab onto her arm and basically have a 125 pound person lean against me to walk until my legs give out and start to numb. Yes I have Sciatica now but nothing i can do about it. It won't go away until I stop doing what I do.

Her blood tests were normal from earlier this year. I don't think there is a test to see if her medication is absorbed properly or not. It's usually a see and tell thing. Everything is a guessing game for that matter. No doctor can ever give me a straight answer. No one knows. I have never been impressed by any MD.

Hi Manuel and welcome. There has to be something your aunt did or is taking that helped her. PD doesn't usually work itself out for no reason. I would love to know the secret to her balance. Thanks.
