5 years after my last post on this, I'm sad to say I am still plagued with this head pressure. I happened to be searching again for an explanation for this symptom when I saw these recent posts. It has surely been my worst symptom as it brings with it a host of other symptoms. I've tried topomax, which I call "dope-o-max" because it makes you pretty stupid and do dumb things. It also altered my taste so that everything tasted metallic. I was also tested for Lyme disease, which was negative. So far, the 5 or 6 neurologists I've told about
this pressure have all looked at me as if I have 2 heads and have said they never heard of this problem. I've come up with what for me is the best descript
ion of the pressure. It feels as though my brain is actually hardening and more each second and truly feels like the back of my head will explode. I always have pressure but when it is at its worst, my lower legs and right arm become extremely weak, I feel pressure in the trachea and I am forced to sit or lie down. It has definitely gotten worse over the years and, even though none of the docs seem concerned, it is quite alarming when it occurs and it occurs daily. I have gotten Botox injections in my neck and shoulder muscles, but no relief. I am going next week to a headache specialist in the hope that it may be migraine related. I am so disheartened that in 7 years I have found no relief and am afraid I will never find relief. I will ask about
xanax or Valium and appreciate the suggestion. Will let you all know if I find an answer.
