Hi All, I'm just new here. Was diagnosed with YOPD in December last year. The one good thing about
it was being called young again as I am 51. (Actually was diagnosed right before my b-day)
I been dr'ng for 5 years with heaviness in my right limbs, pins & needle feeling, some stumbling, toe and leg cramps, exhaustion, blah blah blah........ So it was almost a relief after all the other tests ruled out worse things to finally get a diagnosis and be put on meds (Sinemet CR 200/50, 3 x daily) to help my symptoms.
I am however having a bit of struggle being positive as I look forward. My biggest problem right now it sleep deprivation. I go to bed at 10 - 11 and go right to sleep for about 4-5 hours and then wake up and really don't get back to sleep after.
the other concern I have is work,, will this eventually put me on disability or will I work until I retire about ten years from now. Not a big worry, just think about it some times and how will I know. Some days I feel better than others and then on the down days, I really don't know if it is PD or just life.
I guess it will be a learning experience. Anyone that can share their experiences with me would be appreciated.
I also have had IBS for years and Sleep Apnea which is treated by CPAP.
